School Field Trips at The Oasis: What Teachers and Principals Need to Know

Field trip season brings some of our biggest and most energetic groups through The Oasis Resort's gates. We've hosted school groups from institutions including Morgan Learning Center, Queens College, and Camille's Academy, and over time we've built our operations around what schools actually need: structure, supervision, and a safe way to burn off a semester's worth of energy.

Built to Handle Big Groups

Coordinating a field trip for dozens — or hundreds — of students is a different challenge than hosting a family day out, and we've designed our school program around it. We've successfully managed single-day visits with well over 100 students on-site at once, using structured rotation schedules that move classes between zipline, laser tag, ATV rides, and team-building stations so that no one is left standing around and every group gets full staff supervision at each activity.

Safety is built into every rotation. Our zipline runs on an automatic double-braking system with double trolley attachments, every station starts with a mandatory safety briefing, and our team is trained specifically to manage groups of students rather than just individual guests.

Planning the Day

For teachers and administrators putting together a trip, a few things make the day run smoothly:

Book early. We recommend reserving your date at least a month ahead, which gives your school time to secure board approval and collect consent forms from parents.

Sort out the paperwork. Every student needs a signed liability waiver from a parent or guardian before taking part in any activity.

Dress for the outdoors. Closed-toe athletic shoes, comfortable clothing, and sun protection make for a much better day than dress shoes and uniforms.

Lunch is easy, too — our open-air Benab is set up for packed lunches or catered meals, and our on-site bus parking means drivers can pull straight in off the Soesdyke-Linden Highway without any logistics headaches.
