How to Plan a Corporate Retreat at The Oasis: A Step-by-Step Guide
We've hosted retreats for groups like Republic Bank, Scotiabank, Guyana Breweries Inc, Massy Motors, and GuyBisco, among many others, and the planning process tends to follow the same handful of decisions every time. Here's how to work through them.
Step 1: Decide How Big (and How Private) Your Day Should Be
If your group wants the entire resort to itself — no other bookings, and the only booking type where loud music is permitted — an Exclusive Resort Booking is available by quote. For most teams, though, a standard day package covering just your group is simpler and more cost-effective, and still gives you the run of the activities included in your package.
Step 2: Pick the Right Package for Your Group
Our Corporate package (GYD 149,000, up to 30 people) is built specifically for this: pool access, the outdoor kitchen, a full 1-hour ATV ride for the group, 2 rounds of laser tag, and your choice of one more team-building activity or 5 zipline rides. Smaller teams or tighter budgets can also work well on a Premium package (GYD 119,000, up to 30 people), which trades some activity time for a lower rate. Both packages carry a discounted non-holiday weekday rate if your team has flexibility on dates.
Step 3: Build In Team-Building, Not Just Free Time
The activities aren't just filler — teams consistently tell us the shared physical challenge is what actually gets people bonding, more than a standard agenda ever does. A round of laser tag run as a team competition, a guided ATV trail split into small groups, or the zipline as a shared "everyone does it" moment all work well as structured team-building rather than optional extras.
Step 4: Handle the Logistics
Groups are welcome to bring their own food and drinks, or use our outdoor kitchen space for catering. If your headcount ends up larger than your package's included capacity, a GYD 3,000 per person overage fee applies, so it's worth locking in numbers before you book. And because we're a bookings-only resort, plan to reserve your date at least a month out — sooner for weekends or peak season.
