Fellowship in the Open Air: Church Retreats and Youth Groups at The Oasis

There's something different about fellowship outdoors. Church groups have been discovering that at The Oasis Resort, where congregations from around Guyana come together for youth ministry days, Sunday School outings, and full church family days along the Soesdyke-Linden Highway.
A Space Built for Gathering
At the center of every church visit is our open-air Benab — a shaded, spacious area where congregations gather for devotions, opening prayer, group meetings, or a shared meal before splitting off into activities. We've hosted church groups of 300 or more on a single day, which gives a sense of just how much room there is to spread out, fellowship, and still keep everyone together when it matters.
Food is kept simple and flexible. Groups are welcome to bring their own pre-cooked meals and potluck spreads, and congregations that want to cook fresh on-site can add access to our outdoor kitchen through our Premium or Corporate group packages.
Something for Every Generation
A church family day usually means every age group is on-site at once, and that's exactly what we've built for. Youth groups gravitate toward the zipline, ATV trails, and laser tag, while parents and elders often prefer a slower walk around the grounds or simply relaxing under the Benab. Nobody has to sit out the day because the pace doesn't fit them.
Planning Your Church Retreat
A few things help committees plan a smooth visit:
Reserve early. We recommend booking at least a month ahead to lock in the Benab, bus parking, and your preferred activity schedule.
Get waivers sorted. All participants — or parents and guardians for anyone under 18 — need a signed activity waiver before joining in on zipline, ATV, or laser tag.
Bring the whole caravan. Our on-site parking is built to handle full-sized chartered buses and multi-vehicle convoys, so getting a large congregation on and off the property is straightforward.
Whether it's a youth ministry retreat, an annual Sunday School trip, or a congregation-wide family day, we'd love to help your church plan a day of fellowship, food, and fun in the open air. Reach out to check available dates for your group.
